Just remove the old fiber pads and dirty charcoal dust in them, and used the plastic frame.
stretch a new sock over it made from some pantyhose.
One for coarse filtering, or 2 or 3 for really fine filtering.
They work great, and rinse out easy.
or fit a brand new filter with a nylon sock, if it fits better.
it will keep the fiber pad clean indefinitely.
(assuming you wash out the nylon sock, or just put a new one on if you have a wife that goes thru pantyhose like no tomorrow and you have an endless supply.)
