Anyone know of any CHEAP decent sized tanks(55gallon+) in WA? I'm about a half hour outside of olympia, and I'm not looking to go very far outside of Olympia. I have one idea, I'll send you a pm. Get with Wyldfya-he knows the oly area pretty well. Study craiglist.
Also, I think its time for another WA MFK LFS hit-up. I didnt get to make it last time. If I would have been able to go last time, I could have seen Jeds tanks and gotten some barred midas!
Agreed, In April or May, when the snow is melted, The Columbia River has about 50,000-100,000 hybrid Triploids that broke out of their holding pens. 2-6 lbs each, you can catch and release all day with a barbless hook to get your monsters to keep. They a Trout (Steelhead)/Salmon mix, some are pinkish meat, some are white like trout. Really tasty I hear. These are the fish they plant in all of the fishing lakes....they're stuck in Okanogan County between 2 dams on the Columbia River. They're being fished heavily, but as winter gets colder and the snow deeper, everyone will back off until spring.
They are about 1 hour from Wenatchee/Hwy 2 near the town of Brewster.
I'm hoping East could meet West in the middle sometime! Then even people from Idaho or BC could come in. It's a nice trip when the roads are good. Not worth it this time of year without a good 4x4, good tires and experience in the ice snow driving. Your looking at a 7 hr drive tops in the summer from Olympia-to the fishin spot, 5 hrs with clear passes to Wenatchee, over Snoqualmie and Blewett Passes, the deer and elk are really, really bad on Blewett Pass. We'll see tons of Bighorn Sheep driving up out of Wenatchee along the Westside of the Columbia River.
And there's my input. The exact center of WA is 10 miles SW of Wenatchee!
I missed the first one too and I was really bummed about it!
