Yah he looks great
That 1 week of a diet probably did him good lol
Have you looked into Dragon Stone? Its got a lot of texture though, not sure if you want smooth rocks or not but i love the way Dragon stone looks in a tank. It would definitely contrast well with that sand. Nice tank. Im so interested in this thread as I hope to keep a pair of GTs once I can upgrade my tank to a much larger one. What size is that tank they are in?Thanks.
Yeah I didn't expect that either to be honest but it happened. The fry made it to free swimming but at the time I had 6 GTs in there and the mom couldn't keep them from.getting eaten up.
I really don't want to raise fry anyhow, I just wanted to keep a pair.
I moved recently and was forced to hack down all my bolbitis because they were looking terrible. The plants being out of water for a day must have shocked them. The needle leaf fern had to be thinned out too. Lots of leaves dying. The tank should bounce back in a few months or so.
I also want to find some rock for around the base of the wood to add. Darker color. Not sure what yet though.
Thanks! Your experience is helping me alot.I wouldn't suggest caribsea because of how fine it is. The GT's will pick it up and it will end up in your filters. It also is prone to anaerobic pockets because of how it compacts.
As for pairs, its best to try and see how they get along. Just be prepared to divide them or remove one if things get too rough.
