^ yeah, in Japan they are very strict with giving out licenses to chefs for preparing fugu, one wrong cut and its practically good bye to the person who eats it...

Well guys until someone says other wise its the only lead i have really. Only logical explanation at this point. Fat homer could it be that even though your yellow lab picks on the faka it never felt extremely stressed? Maybe when these gsp are severely stressed out they have more toxins or i dont know... Ive also had puffers and been nipped here or there and everyone was fine. But ive never seen one puff up on and off like this one did. This one was freaking out. Also dont they have tiny tiny spikes on their bodies and when they puff up these stick out like a porcupine puffer. Would this maybe cause more toxins if the fish not only bit the puffer but got pricked by these? Just throwing it out there. All i know is im never keeping puffers of any kind again.

You might be onto something with this, and as i said before im open minded about this, and in fact quite curious to know too...

Ive never heard of any of this. Must be a rare incident. People buy the puffers left and right all the time for community tanks at pet stores no one has had this happen? You would think with all the times these guys are wrongfully kept there would be more incidents.
