Not long enough lol , it fits nicely under our staircase though mate I bought it second hand but it looks like its made to measure , there's about 2mm between the underside of the stairs and the hood when its open ( not a bad find off e bay £250 with t5's ;):D)

Nice one evz, just discovered uk tapwater is 40-50 ppm of nitrate out the tap so our water changes are half hearted really... you do anything about it? im thinking pothos now as rd advised! Maybe an ro tap filter!? Uk water sucks, usa limit is 10ppm!

I've got the right lights for growing plants now but can't have open top tank with my jardini so I'm a bit stuck , I was thinking of putting a basket at one end with the roots growing through (seen it on a few threads) but I think once bigger he'll smash it off the power is unbelievable my old jar used to knock heavy pieces of wood off the top of my old hood when it spooked out :banghead::D
