Water Change Tub

drinking safe hose into the tank is all I do, straight from the washing machine feed. I add 6 1/4 teaspoons of seachem safe as it fills. I do about 175G changes once a week for about 275G of water.

but someplace like this might have what you want.

Are you sure about that dosing? That amount seems awfully high.

Get Seachem Safe instead of Prime. Safe is a lot more concentrated than Prime and will last you much longer.

This, Safe is just a powdered version of prime and if you buy the large container of it, it's essentially a lifetime supply since it will treat about 800,000 gallons

You're using way too much Safe. I've been using 1 teaspoon to treat 240 gallons during a wc. If you read the reviews on amazon, you'll see other people use 1/4 teaspoon to treat every 60 gallons and never have problems. 6tsp is way too much.

100% agree 1/4 tblsp. per 50 gallons SHOULD BE ENOUGH IN MOST APPLICATION...

Get Pond Amquel (or another pond dechlorinator). It comes in 1 gallon containers. I think one teaspoon treats 50 gallons (check to make sure).. It lasts a long time.

I use a 75 gallon tank under my stand to mix up the water. I have the water lines plumped to go directly into the tank. I squirt in the decholorinator from a feeding syringe (that they use to feed birds, get it at a petstore, no needles in it obviously). Then fill up the tank. I generally let the water sit 24 hours so the bubbles can dissipate. There's a pump in the tank with a hose that I can use to fill up my 7 tanks.

Tractor Supply sells the rubbermaid feed vats. They are pretty nice, but can take up some room. They come in sizes up to 300 gallons. I have a 55 gallon one that I use as an emergency/quarantine tank. Just another option.

yup, it's a bit much, but they do say

If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume.
so based on 300G tank/sump with around 275G of water I'm only using 1/2 a teaspoon too much. maybe it's pointless, but maybe it gets to the chlorine quicker so as to minimize it's effects on the gills of the fish that insist on playing in the hose stream.

300 gallon tank should have about 1 1/2 tablespoons of safe according to my math

how quick does safe dissolve into the water? Also do you put in the conditioner of safe/prime in the water before you add new water? or yo uput it after you add the new water.

as it fills.
I've also just dumped it in at the beginning with no problems. I wouldn't wait until the tank is filled. you want to neutralize as much as possible before it hits the gills.
dissolves pretty quick as a powder directly into the water, slower if you dump it on a damp surface and it a pulls water into the pile.
