A HOUSE
i have a 150 gal. tank with just one 14 inch aro. how often should i do a water change. and how much water...

thanx friends..

around 30%~50% water changes per week

oh i c lets wait for sum more input

We could all speculate, but we know water changes are good. Check the parameters of your tank ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph. Adjust water changes as necessary. But I would do a minimum of 20%. I'm not sure I agree with 50% but we all have opinions. Talk to Discus owners. There are some who do daily changes.

i agree with discus owner and nitrates, thats why isaid 30%~50%

Depends on your filtration and feeding. People saying more is better are just stupid, unless you've got free water and electricity and too much spare time. Keep an eye on your parameters and see how long it takes for the NitrAte to begin to rise (ammonia and nitrite shouldn't be detectable at all). I'd guess that 20% per week with a fish that size in a tank that big will be plenty, unless its really under-filtered or you majorly over-feed.

David R has got it. The only true way to really tell is to measure the levels of nitrate in your tank. Change enough water weekly to keep those levels down. With just a single fish your goal should be to keep levels below 20ppm.
