Hi All!

After years of using buckets to replenish water into my tanks I finally gave in and bought a No Spill Python. It looks simple to use but my only question is when to add the water conditioner? Until today I have been convinced the ONLY way to do a water change was to refill the bucket with tap water, add conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes so the conditioner does its thing and also so the waters temperature evens out. Obviously you cannot do this with a Python....or can you?

Please educate me MFK!

The tank is 125g. I'd only be taking out 20% of the water each WC. I should be able to figure out how much conditioner should be added based on the new water coming in.

so....just to be sure, I should add the conditioner to the tank before adding the new water with the Python. Yes?

for my tanks all i do is

put a hose pipe in the tank
suck on the other end for about 5seconds then just drop it on the floor (outside) and this just drains the tank then connect the hose pipe upto the tap and refil

job done and certainly is a lot faster,
btw i add nothing but tap water, no chemicals only food / water nothing else

I add the prime first (dosage enough for the whole tank volume) then fill with water

thats what i do.its that simple. no special steps.

If I must add anything at all, I slowly add it into the filter stream while tank is filling as long as I have enough water to circulate the filter system. (I run multiple filters on my tanks).

I always add the conditioner the same time I'm filling up the tank.
