Water Cow tankmates

I would never keep a Cow fish in a 55 gal,i have a 125 gal tank and shortly the tank will be thinned out.

no offense to above poster's, but just because you hear that it works for someone else doesn't mean that it will work for you... or work period in the long run.

Water Cow's get 17" and Eleotris Picta IS brackish. It "may be doing fine in freshwater" but that is a sure way to kill it prematurely. It won't fit in a 55g by itself for too long, rather less with other fish. I would keep it by itself it you insist on putting it in a 55", maybe some hard fast dithers like Blue/Red Colombian Tetras. Just because it looks small in the tank doesn't mean it doesn't stretch what you have in there.

Eats like a pig=poops like a pig=will foul 55 gallons of water very quickly.

Right on, I wasn't dogging anyone. I was just saying that personal experience doesn't constitute fact and reminding to be cautious in using that (from any non-expert) as a decision making factor.

Yeah but IME these guys does better in brackish...which would in his case also help keep the fungus that he cured it of at bay.

I trust personal experience more than what I read on websites, apart from MFK and LA from aqualandpetsplus.com...high praise to LA.

Wonderful Fish I kept mine with Cichla, Arowana, Central American Cichlids.... And a 19" Tire Track eel Others maybe..

I fed everything from Live cichlids to market shrimp.

When I started cutting stock to breed my Cichla His head was the size of my fist This was one of My favorite fish

My buddy had him for a while and he All but murdered a 6" Oscar Gut first.... With one shot.

Thsi pic is tricky on the eye He was longer than my Male Cichla in this pic Cichal was 15" on Tape And My Picta was an inch or two longer BEEFY BRUTISH fish
