Ok I think I'm going to do the newts
I am going to just do like half water and then half, sand or would gravel work better?
What kind of fish could go in there?

Neither, Use potting soil,Bed-a-Beast, or other coconut fiber soil.
And as for fish i would say just guppies or something of that sort.I'm not a fish expert...

ya i would think that the dirt would mess up the filter......... i would use probably rounded pepple gravel but thats just me
