used to have a pacman like this, it dried up so fast i couldnt keep the humidity up so i had to just dump in water then flies started breeding in the dirt kuz it was too wet :(
needless to say it didnt end well...
so im gonna stick to something with a filter, lol that is what im best at :grinno:

It really isn't that hard to keep them. I would suggest doing your research before purchasing any animal.

i did =(
i thot i had it all figured out
but when the humidity in the summer is 8% its next to impossible to keep a terrarum at 60% humidity with manual mistings :(

You can purchase a humidifier to raise the humidity in the room.

This is how i see it

1/2 Bed-A-Beast
separated by a piece of plexi glass
1/2 Water with gravel for substrate
With a log or something to act as a ramp in and out of the water.
A small hide on land.
Some fake plants in the water and on land.
And an Eastern Newt.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Newt

The wiki says there fairly common and i think they look awesome.especially in red eft stage. You could keep them with some small fish as well.Keep em at room temperature.

now i want to do this lol

in any of the wet/dry tanks i've done...i always used a water tight divider. i found i had problems w/ flies and mold when i had the soil fully saturated all the time. also the water gets rather dirty, clogged up the filter quick. not to say it cant be done, but i thought it worked better w/ a solid divider. u can even purchase one for a 20 gal for like $20. i use a zoomed 501 canister filter for my turtles, it comes w/ an optional spraybar that works well for newts and frogs. fluval also makes some nice, submersible compact filters for different aplications that work well for reptiles and amphibians. or, reptifilter's waterfall.

Would this be a good setup for a pacman?

not really
the water would have to be
shallow and having it with fish would be stupid.

Really a pacman setup would be 3 inches of bed a beast and a shallow, but wide water dish for soaking. Thats about it.
Plus lots of humidity and 75-85 temps. They basically just chill in the dirt and eat lol.
