Knowdafish, I'm not complaining. But, If your going to take the time to post a proud pic of your treasured tank why not take the extra effort to clean the glass first? Holy Cr**, I hope I'm not starting something! Like I said, just wondering.... LOL

I agree with you 100% ! At a local fish club meeting a guy did a 1 hour talk on fish photography. He spent at least 20 minutes on "correct presentation" which included how the tank and glass look.

my cats dirty the glass every night, for me it's a daily task!!!

As for tanks getting dirty... Man after a point you have so many that you basically only clean an area of the tank to take photos... and then of course the fish decides to do what you wanted photos of in a different area.

If you are going for artistic shots sure spend the time. But if you are just trying to ask about the fish and such, no bigy. I mean for me to clean the inside of say the 400 or 250, I have to climb laders lift heavy canopies... it just gets tiring after a while. (But I still do it when I want good shots.)

LOL, I'm not up to that point yet! Wow, big tanks, I feel small..

I spend more time getting the tank ready for a photo than what it takes to get the actual pix.

Off the topic. You know those little robot things that go around pools to pick up the crap? Someone should invent a little battery operated pooper picker upper for fish tanks. Who's in? I have copy rights per this post... lol

Like a roomba for fish tanks. Call it a poopba

I have a hell of a time getting the intended "victim" to stand still or stop swimming, then to givr me a nice profile shot. Took almost 15 minutes to take a good shot of this mystery Victorian the other day. My tanks are spotless, kept away from natural light sources.

Some of us aren't anal about appearances and some are. Most of my tanks came used and all I do is keep them clean and full to the trim so water level can't be noticed. If I was to be anal about it I certainly wouldn't have used tanks with scratches.

Just personal preference is all it is.
