water params for oscar

nitrate - about 80ppms, nitrite - about .10 ppms, ammonia - about 2.0 ppms(i need to get this lowered too...i can buy something to help my ammonia go down, right?


gosh i didnt realize how bad my water params were, sheesh.

well i know I need to do more, being that it's an oscar but gosh its so hard to find time sometimes, but i try to do at least 50% 2xs a week

You just need more filtration and triple your water changes.
Either triple the volume or triple the frequency
Wow if you are doing that much in water changes your tank must be WAAAAYYY too small

Too many fish for 55 gallons. Add another filter. Do more water changes.

Do you rinse your filter pads out?
