Do the valves on your Y adapters u got from Lowe's operate backwards like mine? So annoying.

Yeah. I put white dots on the dial and base to guide me.

I would pay attention to the head height spec. The Rio Plus 1400 has only a 5' height. That would barely reach the top of the tank and the flow at 5' would be very-very low.

I use a pond pump. Beckett G535AG20 550 gph, 3/4" ID tube, 13" max height (purchased at Lowes).

$70 for Beckett G535AG20. Wow ,kind of out of my range.....

How much for Harbor Freight pump at HD or lowes?

Harbor freight is their own company. They sell tools cheap. Sometimes they're cheap because they're not so great, but other times you find some decent products at bargain prices. I'm pretty sure they're based out of CA, so you should be able to find them in your area.
