Water seems to get dirty too quick

That's because you have plecos and a goldfish. Those are the biggest poop machines on the plannet of fish. Didn't you know that? Plus Oscars are poop machines but compared to one pleco the Oscar is a little girl of poops. And you have many.

I need to spark up my fish life

+1 I'd get rid of the goldfish and all the plecos except maybe one if you really love it or amp up your filtration considerably.

They don't eat driftwood at a rate that is even noticeable. So that isn't what is making the water dirty. What is making the water dirty is that he has three or four fish that are notoriously messy and while the FX5 is enough, the flow may not be set up well enough to move all the poop or he just plain needs more filtration.

The OP mentioned the driftwood and how it could not be leaching giving me the impression he was not talking about poop, but the particles of wood floating in the water column from the plecos. So maybe we should hear from the OP to clarify his question.

the amount of poo on the ground isnt bad at all..its just dirty water. the filter is cleaned out once a month if not twise. and like i said water changes are once a week always. as for plecos i love the royal and wanna keep him the common i can get rid of..same with the goldfish

i have a 240 gallon i have yet to set up due to my basement not being finished yet but is about 3/4 done. so hope that will help..also will be running two fx5's

May be the sand is your problem. I recently added sand to my tank and when I cleaned the water after few weeks I excluded cleaning sand as I'd been lazy, just the tank walls and filter were cleaned. Unexpectedly fresh water began to smell and get dark sooner than normal. So when I was cleaning my tank last time I checked the sand too by scooping it. It looked dirty inside the sand because poops were diluted and mixed with sand also giving a unbearable odor. So I cleaned it too. So far water's been fine again.

I'm not sure of what I'm telling here. But adding new water once a week wouldn't help if you don't clean the filter too if it contains a lot of poop. When the new water go through it old poop loads can be diluted with water again.
