After I do a water change can I water my plants with the waste water. Does any one do this? I think the nitrates will help the plants but maybe the salt will kill them? I don't know. Give me your opinion.

Discarded tank water is good for your garden and plants so long as it is not loaded with chemicals or mess.I use it for my plants when I can.

I always do this. I trickle 5 gallons per hour into and out of my fish tanks and all that fishy water goes to my yard. Plants love it and I was going to water the plants anyway so now I just water the fish first then the plant water is free :)

Don't do it with saltwater. I was told marine salt will kill plants. As far as I'm concerned, its not worth the risk. If its fresh, go for it!

I didn't mean saltwater, that would be a noobish mistake. I meant freshwater with some aquarium salt, will that be okay?
