Watering garden with aquarium water?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Have always used my tank water to water the garden. When i've treated my tanks with salt, no plants have died off. although its only a small amount of salt for a couple weeks and the plants are hardy to

Lol. So by that logic watering your garden straight from the garden hose is a waste too.

its only a waste if you could have used your waterchange water instead of the garden hose. reduce your footprint when you can. thats the whole idea. dont waterchange and dump down a toilet or drain when it can go on your flowers, lawn, plants...

Yes But It Doesnt Always End Up Where It Came From

so in other words, you only eat what you grow without using any outside inputs of food, fertilizer (be they chem or organic), or water. plus all your urine and feces are composted on site?
I find that very unlikely. even if you live in Milagro (in tuscon, not phoenix), you're still doing the same thing running septic into the wetlands. no different that our fish septic going into the shrubs.

i dump my water into patch of mint and i swear they have grown so fast they are almost taking over the lawn.

"Way To Waste Water Guys. Let The Water Go Down The Drain N Get Treated So You Can Use It Again."

And use that "treated water" to water your plants? That makes no sense.

Been using it on mine for years. Don't use it on food plants if you chemically treat but otherwise it's fine. Nitrates in the water is what powers aquaponic systems not outside chemical sources.
