Waterproof Membrane on inside of stand

No matter what I do with my tank the floor gets wet. Maybe keep a towel handy for anytime you touch the tank? Don't know about getting fish food out of a rug either. Rug is nice would be a shame for something to happen to it. I say the tank was there first lol.

a bit of dry fish food isn't a problem. it can be vaccumed.

but,

when you get water and fish food on the rug at the same time, that is trouble. it starts to smell.

with my old monsters, I used to open up the glass top, put food in and boom! the odd time they would splash before I could even get the lid closed. problem was, that splash has food in it as well as water.

and it lands on the rug. you have to wait until it is completely dry before vaccuming otherwise you just smear the wet food into the carpet.

but then, you are just letting the water soak into the rug while you are letting the fish food dry...its a lose lose situation.

once the food/water lands on the rug, you are screwed either way.

Oh what about getting a piece of old carpet and laying it down in front of the tank whenever your going to do something.... Or that plastic when you paint a room? Then when done put it away?

Now that the wife has seen you putting it under the tank stand take a nice sharp knife and cut neatly around the base of the tank and rip the piece out from under the tank, she will never know ;-)

Then you can just roll it out of the way when you work on the tank. (When she is out obviously)
