Wats wrong with my UMBEE???

Please don't use Melafix or Pimafix. Those products are nearly worthless. Amazing how they've taken over the industry...

Akskirmish is right, simply ramp up the water changes and increase the salinity level of the tank. If after a few days of that nothing improves, move to the medicine (actual medicine!) route.

Next question....... How long do you expect an umbee to survive in the tank with a pair of dovii? I hate to be negative, but this situation won't end well unless you make some changes. It sounds like you've moved the umbee (correct?).
 
I'd go the salt route.
Just used 10 lbs of rock salt on my hait tank, and seriously raised the temp. Within 24 hours the female looked remarkably better. She had come down with ich after a heater crapped out.
Those other cichlids in the tank you have should have no trouble with salt.
 
so i should use rock salt?? yes i did move the umbee, but when i had had the dovii'z and umbee in the same tank i had them divided with driftwood to where neither one of them could get to eachother. normally i wouldnt have them in the tank with eachother but i found the male dovii, male umbee, and male red terror ( which the terror i gave to my friend) all at the same time, all over 10 inchs, and couldnt pass up the deal. im going to buy some salt today, should i get rock salt or salt for a salt tank??
 
Salt is salt as long as it says sodium chloride ion the label,
you could use water softener salt, as long as NaCl is the ingredient, $4.00 a bag at home impov stores around here.
I've used it before too, In fact, there is a kind of fused pellet that disolves a little slower, and is good as long as it's sodium chloride.
Because it's made for drinking water treatment, it may have less extra junk than rock salt.
I just toss in a handful or 2 every hour until the desired salinity is reached.
 
ive never used salt before, i dont even test my water. ive had fish forever but not exotic ones so i never felt the need to test the water. none of my fish have ever gotten sick or died, this is my first fish that has had something wrong with. i have him in a 75 gallon now, is there any certain amount i need to put in, or do i need to buy some kind of test kit
 
i have some morton table salt?? will that work, it says that its iodized salt, the ingrediants are salt, calcium silicate, dextrose and potassium iodide. is that suitable
 
No...... Use Kosher salt, aquarium salt, or pure sea salt. Any other additives can be a problem. Most products with the names I just delineated are absent of additives (preservatives, anti-caking agents, etc.).

Perfectly safe to use a lot, but it is advisable to gradually increase the salinity to avoid stressing the fish. For parasitic infestations, for instance, I use one teaspoon per gallon. I repeat that dosage two more times at twelve hour intervals.
 
umbee seems to be doing a little better, i swobbed him with peroxide, then did a salt dip for 30 min, then added melafix in the tank, this is the last day of melafix because i treated him for 7 days. the wound is still open and hasnt healed up yet, i will post some pics tonight
 
also my doviis fry are up and about, if anyone wants any let me kno, i can also post pics of my breeding pair, the male is nicaraguin about 12 inchs, the female is about 7 inchs
