Thank you, Kirk, for the kind words! Always happy to hear from you. Are your pacmans too big now to bury themselves? What's their size? Our Jello is not nearly that spoiled. He comes up to the begging position and does fine picking up fish from the bottom when no one gives him anything from the top
Yeah the pacmans still bury themselves from time to time. Had them now for around 4 years, they've grown from 5"TL to now @ 19" and 21" in my 130G tank. Fortunately they're not inclined to move around as much being somewhat sedentary species but they do change locations to individual spots separately or hanging out together in a pile. Due to their space being more confined now, it's difficult for them to stand on their heads and suck up food from the gravel if they need to (or want to?), hence the hand feeding thing. At one point in the past they would aggressively skim the surface at feeding times but almost never now. Surely they could use a much larger tank and their habits and behavior would likely change if that were to happen but no room for that, unfortunately. Ultimately I will probably have to sell them at some point keeping their best interests in mind, even though I would hate to see 'em go...
