Weight Gain Strategies

As someone who has been competing over the last 7 years, 8 shows total, I would not worry so much about the scale. I would be happy to gain 5 lbs of lbm in a year...that may not sound like much, but over time that adds up. 15lbs of muscle is not possible, unless other chemicals/hormones are included. Don't get caught up in buying every supplement under the sun...supplements are just that, they supplement your diet.....and as far as the anti-creatine post....there has not been more of a studied supplement than creatine. My top supplements on a budget are whey, multi vitamin, creatine.

Get your diet down and make sure you are eating enough...write everything down that you eat. I haven't missed a meal in over a year. I also weigh everything I eat. What is your macro nutrient breakdown now? What is your training style like? Cardio? Supplement? How old and how long have you been training? How much do you weigh?

I agree with everything here except I also take BCAA's and Glutamine post workout to help with recovery, I can definitely notice a difference when I take it compare to when I don't. I also know many people who swear by N02 booster pre-workout but I'm not a big fan of them, plus I switched from a pure lifting workout to crossfit so NO2 products don't seem to have as much benefit. Another thing I always take is a high quality fish oil with my multi vitamin. This is another one of those things that won't directly cause you to get bigger but will enable you to recover faster. Take it from someone who graduated high school at 125(wrestling weight), held steady for almost 10 years and now at age 30 is up to 165lbs. The weight will add up, but it will take time if you want it to be lean mass that will look good. Water weight and fat are always much easier to gain than lean muscle.

if you think you are eating a lot..but not gaining weight. then you're not eating enough. and its impossible to gain 10-15 of muscles in a few months (assuming u want to look muscular and have low body fat.). maybe if you were on that bike (drugs) then it might be possible. but naturally....nah. just eat eat and eat

if your 18 or younger dont worry about it yet because you will not gain that... To be honest I was a string bean when I was 18.... I turned 19 and worked out hard and ate right and only gained 28 lbs in a year. All natural, only had protine powder. I was doing 2 work outs a day tho. I was a gym rat... at 20 I gained a bit more weight and peaked at about 255lbs... I am 6'3. Im 21 now and a solid 235 and lift more then I did when I was 20... Just give it time, weight doesnt have much to do with it trust me.

Try playing water polo, I dropped 20lbs in 2 weeks an then put on 25lbs of muscles 3 weeks later. But that is from working out 6-7hrs a day, almost everyday.

When I drop weight for grappling comps that 20 lbs is water weight. I can lose and gain that in a week aswell. Im sure he wants real gains. To be honest gaining 15 lbs of solid muscle is hard to do. I allways say who cares about the weight of you, its all about what you lift ! Your weight will gain with the weight your lifting ! Ignore trying to gain weight, eat well, eat alot and work hard. It will come.
