The thoughts always creep into my head and i did get back after the first surgery but it was never the same and one rep with bad form would cost me a week of agony.smh
There was a time when all i did was body weight stuff and i swear i never ever had the same "size"gains with weights. At work i had some "clients" that were absolute monsters. I would jump on the bar with them and my god talk about strength. Most of them never touched a weight.

Problem is its like in-grained in our minds that weights are the the way to go and i would never stick with it long term.... plus doing 500 reps for wahtever body part i was targeting was boring as hell.
