Weird armatus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dang this is a tough one...

my best guess is that hes getting sick but isnt showing any drastic signs yet.

ive also had an aro that was soo intimidated by my armatus that he wouldnt eat. but u saw him eat so

yep, up until saturday, everyone had a full meal.

There are only 4 armatus in a 75 gallon with about 50 rosies.

If he started to swim more upright constantly at almost a horizontal plane, I'll move him to another tank. Just to see if it helps.

He's the smallest one out of the bunch, so I agree with you Trev, the rest of the pack is trying to get rod of the runt

Came home, saw the armatus laying on its side. I was pretty sure he's dead and as I walked up close, he started to struggle to swim again, for a few seconds then laying down on its side.

I am going to setup a tank tonight with the water from the 75 and see how it goes tmw morning.

I'll keep your guys updated

Dam man.... Sorry to hear.

I have one that's acting kinda flakey as well. Also the runt. I'm allready moving stuff around.

How's yours man ? did he make it ?

I really really doubt mine will make it through the night

I decided not to move him. I don;t want to further stress him out. If for some miracle, he gained a bit of strength tmw, I may move him.

I've got a monster in with 2 passives and 2 runts. Gonna move the biggest/most aggresive. Hoping my flakey runt recovers before one of the passives steps up to become the new dominant one. Right now the damaged runt seems fine. Adding salt for his shiving. Have to move a ray then ill move the aggressive Armatus. I just hope I cut the right wire on my ticking timebomb tank. Lol. The joys of Characin shoals.

Damn sorry to hear.

I have allways heard that once hydro's start to list over they never come back. So far it has been true for me.

I had a tat hold on for 10 days last winter. But never recovered and then died.

Hope the best for the little guy and keep us updated.

This morning, still here...

I wish he either come back or die...it's easier for me and him.

I have seen quite a few armatus and tatauia waste away like this and for no good reason at all. Sometimes they turn like all black and then start floating up like that. I've seen this happen in tanks with only 1 of them in it. But, I do believe that these fish were stressed the hellout for some reason. They decide to just stop eating and self destruct. I would make sure that you have that heat cranked and add salt to be safe. Make sure you have alot of oxygen, circulation and you keep that water very tight and let that one go.

Sorry to hear it man.
