Just noticed something weird on the side of my flowerhorn you can see it at 0:11 ~ 0:16 and 0:28~0:31.

Hoping it's just heater burn damage or bumping into the air stone damage and not something parasitic.

current set up:
55 gal (48" x 15" x 17")
sunsun 303b
200 watt aqueon, set @81 F

water parameters
pH: 8.2
dGH: 14
dKH: 11
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
NItrate: 40 (tap is 40 too)

really dont wanna lose this fish, had her since 4/25/2015

It looks to me it's at the right height to be from scraping along the heater. I'd just move the heater. I prefer to keep mine tucked in the corner.

Then just keep the water clean so it heals fast. It's not fuzzy is it? It's hard to tell in the video.

no fuzz or anything

best way i can describe it is that the scales in the affected areas look like calluses

Hi i have the same problem. He doesn't show any other symptoms like decreased in appetite nor aggressiveness. What did you do now?

I am having same problem with my flower horn.
Just 1 year old. And there is a bump on his head. Just few weeks back I treated her with ich and she was fine. But idk if this is ich again coz this time it's a big jump.
She hasn't lost her apatite or aggressiveness.IMG20191201084306.jpgIMG20191201084104.jpgIMG20191201084056.jpg
