Weird looking myleus wide bar

My male SD's get those blotches too, I call it "5 o'clock shadow "

Yes a female red hook and male thin bar ??

Regarding the male, Actually NOT A THIN BAR, but a WIDE bar M. schomburgkii , which happens to look somewhat washed-out.
The bar on a thin bar would be less than half the width shown in the images. In addition, on a male thin bar, one would not see the two large splotches on the side of the fish.

Both of my male THIN BARS looked the same. The splotches increase and merge with age
