i fed my oscar some feeder fish and after he ate about 4-5 my pacu ate one and completely demolished the feeder fish.

is this normal pacu behavior

as odd as this sounds your sure it's a pacu and not a piranha? and it's not uncommon for pacu to eat feeders. just not very common either from my experiance. they are omnivours, but most pacus prefer a nearly vegetarian diet. what other foods are you offering them?

i am feeding the pacu pellets and the oscar feeders. but today the pacu was freeking out eating whatever it could fit in its mouth. bit one of my medium sized fish attacked my plants and ate a feeder fish (1 that i know of) and chased the rest around the tank till the oscar got'em. and yes im sure its a pacu because it hardly has any teeth and meets all the pacu requirements, if you will.

i've never seen it act like this though. it dang near tryed every plant out to see if they were eatable and chased every fish (except the oscar, he would be stupid to do that)

yea they eat dead mice

when i had some, they never touched any bloodworms. only algae wafers.

i will try that pea diet thanks

ill give it a try at a few different diets to see with fits him best
