Weird thing for a walmart to have.

First Wal Mart comes to a town and then all the local "mom and pop" stores have to close down because they can't compete. Which means the downtowns become empty, which is not good for the town.

So they have beat out all the small stores, now they plan on attacking big stores like petco and petsmart.
Its only a matter of time before Wal Mart will have everything. Gas, Doctors, eatery, banks, colleges, whatever all in one big building.
Or they will simply open up Wal Town's all over the world.

Whats the difference between the US Government and Wal-mart? Their both corrupt, both too big, but at least if wal-mart took over we might start making money instead of losing it.

Walmarts here in Pa. don't take care of their tanks or fish dead & left in them for weeks. In two cases i seen whiped every fish out. Buying fish from there is money out of your pockets & into theirs.

yeah i know what you guys mean, unfortunaly i work at my walmart here in elkton md, i work as a tech for the tire lube express, lol its just a part time job and i need the extra money, but i have asked my manager time and time again if they would let me at least clean and upkeep the tanks, i don't work there enough to maintain them fully and all but they always tell me that i can't i have to be properly trained, BS if you ask me, i normally just do it anyway ( Just don't get caught), but there are so many dead fish, the people who feed them just DUMP litteraly Dump food in the tanks, i once saw about 40 or 50 "feeder" fish as they label them come in all alive and heathy, about 2 days later half where floating, and the next day or so they were all dead...

Wal-Mart is a business. Please don't volunteer your time to take care of their fish. And certainly don't do it against orders from your boss. You slip cleaning a tank and hurt yourself - Do you think Wal-Mart will have your back? or throw you under the bus?

If Wal-Mart cared to properly maintain the animals that it sells, it would put the right resources toward it. They have chosen not to. It's simply not in their business plan.

Not really. I was working there and at Kroger part time until school ended then went to Petsmart fulltime to work the truck shift after highschool was done.

EXACTLY. That's why Petsmart and others including me don't think it will work out. I mean I would rather go to a petstore(Petsmart or any other pet store actually) just because if I do have a question at least I know it will get answered, most of the times at least. I mean if I was paid practically nothing and the store treated me like a piece of dung I would probably not care either.

Why did you quit kroger? you do know that the head dairy and frozen start out at $16.70 an hour! and your in a union. what do you make at pets mart?

I've worked for both Petsmart and Petco.. IMO thay aren't any better compared to walmart, just have larger volume of "pet" products.. They'de all throw each other under the bus given half a chance. Walmart is deffinately an aggresive large business. Petco and petsmart employees do not neccisarily know wth they are talking about or even care. Personally thats a bigger blasphemous thing to do then work at wally world and simply not know what your selling. Petco and petsmart "train" their employees. BUt They really don't give a damn about their animals as they say. It's the individuals takeing care of/running the stores that are to blame for the crappy conditions not the giants themselves. Though they indeed have their say.

At 17 and an assistant specialties associate I made about 9$ an hour.. /chuckles that was 10 years ago though.. at petsmart. and I made about the same as a part-time associsciate at petco about 6 years ago?

Any Chain store is the same...It's the people who work their that maek the difference be it petco, petsmart, walmart. IMO we should burn every coorprate office of theirs down.. but thats just me.

Store managers - whether they be at PetsMart or Wal-Mart - manage to their metrics: how their bosses measure their performance and compensate them.

Something tells me that health of livestock isn't something that affects a Wal-Mart store manager's compensation / performance. But cost of staff / training sure as heck is.
