Weirdest, but good tasting things you've eaten?

I had fish head soup a few times as a kid. It was made with fresh salmon heads and was very good. Great, now I'm craving fish head soup but I'm sure my wife would kill me if I cooked it in the house.

I bought a small pack of jack fruit flavored candy yesterday at the Asian market, probably because this thread got me thinking about weird foods. I had one and it wasn't terrible but it wasn't something I'll be getting again. They have quite a few different jack fruit candies as well as whole fruit and frozen pieces. I'm a little scared to try the actual fruit.

what? you sure it was jack fruit? I thought jack fruit was sweet

and you should try the dried mango. those are delicious

Alligator meat (ground, or strip), parrotfish (saltwater reef one), frog legs are amazing esp. beer battered, rattlesnake, tongue taco (sooo good. not greasy at all and tender), chicken giblets (tossed in the traditional medium buffalo sauce, 1/2 butter 1/2 franks original red hot, trust me I work in the kitchen of a bar in the shadow of the buffalo bills stadium), pigeon is so good. I tend to get weird food at the grocery, I enjoy new experiences like that. anyone else a fan of Bizarre Foods?!

Butchering that damn saltwater reef Parrot Fish was the toughest fish I've ever prepped. The meat was so good though, I cooked it on a salt block and put Mediterranean seasoning on it, it had the texture of lobster but when you eat it unseasoned it almost has a mushroom like flavor with the typical saltwater fish. I attribute that earthy undertone to the fact its diet is coral

Fish head soup is best with the head of the bighead carp.

I was at a potuguese rodizzio and they were running back and foryh with a bunch of meats and I wasnt sure what a lot of them were. I was eating them all and then he comes out with a little skewer with these little ball shaped things. I eat it and I almost threw up when I found out it was chicken heart. Now I ask what everything is when I go to rodizzio.

Dude. HEARTS ARE DELICIOUS. I eat the heart of the deer right when we get back to camp if I get one, and if someone gets one and they don't want it, I always get the liver and heart, tried the stomach lining once with a good wash of course and it wasn't half bad probably wouldn't do it again tho

Another weird thing is Jumping Shrimp. You literally trap a bunch of ghost shrimp (I did with a coke bottle trap on the Chesapeake), and put hot sauce on them (live) and get em down quick Cuz they start hoppin. I only did this to 4 Cuz I felt bad about the lil guys swimming in it. It was really tasty though, crunchy and fresh
