at my lfs one time, some of the employees were telling me about a time when a fish (some large cichlid, i can't remember exactly) was being held for a customer, and when the man showed up to get his fish, it was gone. they searched in every tank that had lights on, and then they got a flashlight to search the lower tanks that were not housing any fish at the time. low and behold, the fish was in the tank that was directly below the one that he belonged in. the weird part is that the tanks are "stacked" directly on top of each other.
Ok so i have 2 ponds one with fish and a water garden with plants.I gave up putting plants with the fish because they always eat them. So a friend of ours wanted to know if we needed some plants. So we said bring them over.He brought them in a bucket, and we all know how special a fish bucket is. So he had to have it right back,so we dumped them in our plant pond to sort out later. Anyways at the end of the season we were cleaning out the water garden and found 4 little Shubunkin goldfish living happily in the plants that we never knew were there. They must have been eggs on the plant roots when we got them...
last week when i was feeding my oscar and jd, i was about to drop a pinch of Hikari in the tank and my oscar sticks his head out of the water with his mouth open waiting for me to drop the food so i dropped it in his mouth and when he closed his mouth he squirted a little bit of water at me and then gobbled up the food
one time one i was at my lfs there was a 5 or 6 inch arowana in a tank one of the workers was trying to catch for someone else (i really wanted that aro but i had no room at the time for it) and as the worker was try to net the aro it jumped over into the next tank , luckily the tank next to it was open, and then it swam around as nothing happened, then finally the worker caught it
its not really my weird fish incident buti thought that i would share it anyway
opened the hood on my tank to feed my oscar. Had the food in my hand and got distracted by the tv. I heard a splash and the oscar jumped out over my shoulder trying to get the food. He almost slapped me in the face. ended up on the ground flapping around, threw him back in and he was fine.
Had a crawdad as a kid, it went missing and was presumed dead. 3-4 days later my mom freaked out and squashed him when she was cleaning under the couch.
Had another crawdad that would catch my dwarf frogs and bite off only the fins then just hang on to them, i think they drowned w/o fins but he never ate them, just carried the bodies around.
Kind of sickening
Psh, I was sitting on this 5 gallon plastic bucket that was turned upside down, having a ciggerette, when I released one and to my suprise, it was very loud and sure enough I was noticed.
