weirdest fish incident

had a convict jump out of the tank and on to the floor while i was out, when i came home i noticed what looked like a small piece of dirt or something beside the tank. i walked by it thinking "i'll get it later" i came back to the tank to get the dirt about a half hour later and notice the 'dirt' was my convict! he was crusty looking and his eyes looked almost all white. i thought he was dead for sure but put him back in the tank and he stated gasping. 2 days later he bread with another female convict and they hatched!!!

I had a tank a while back with a male and female betta. THe female betta went missing one day and i coudnt find any evidence. I gave up and went to watch TV. About two hours later i went to my basement cuz my mom said there was a leak in a pipe. I went to investigate and found the female betta just barely covered in water in a puddle under the leaking pipe. I just dont get how she got down two flights of stairs and managed to survive in that ice cold ( and probobly chlorinated) water. I put her back in the tank and she was fine.

Well here's a new one that happened about 2 hours ago...

I went to give me Cons their nightly feeding, and as I grabbed the food container, I sneezed. I looked down into the water, since I was standing above it, and I noticed a giant loogee that I accidently sneezed into the water. I rushed to grab my net to scoop it out, and when I turned back to the tank, I noticed it was gone. I looked at my largest female and she had a slimy trail from the side of her mouth. Aparently a loogee a day keeps the doctor away.

I'm so freaking glad I wasn't eating when I read that. :yuck:

I'm not sure if this counts as weird or tragic, but I'll share anyway. When I was keeping Discus I took the inlet strainer off to clean it and forgot to put it back on for a while. When I came back to the tank I notice my dominant Discus halfway in the opening. I tried to save him, but he was far too gone. Down the toilet and I was very saddened at the loss. Needless to say I will not make that mistake again.

Well,I turned off my filters for a few minutes to feed. The next day I couldn't find my 7 inch tire track eel.I then seen a tail fin flapping out of my powerhead. My tire track eel had swam into the powerhead the day before when the pumps where off.It completed the circle inside until it ran into itself and couldn't move forward or go backward. If I would have just noticed him the day before... R.I.P.
