Weirdest Fish to Put in 75 gallon!?!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey anyone know anything about the spotted freshwater moray eal, i have herd that they are one of the only moray eals that will prosper in feshwater, as appose to the other supossed freshwater morays that are heavy brackish or salt >:( :P

Water cows are pretty cool fish.....if you can find one! I highly recommend bichirs too. If you are up to it try a South American Leaf Fish. They need soft water though.... I kept one for a couple of years in a "oddball community tank". If you want something REALLY exciting get a carapo knifefish. They are the nastiest fish on the planet and hard to get.

You could get a arrowhead puffer, stealth predators that are ugly as hell and eat tons!!

OH darn i forgot about the common wolf fish! one would fit nicely in a 75 gallon! they look fierce! They butcher prey! just dont try to fit anything else with him, as they are solitary.

Such good suggestions~~!! yeah i looked into it more and it can be alright for a good period of time in fresh but that can not be a permanent home, maybe i will get a brackish set up someday , now i am determined to get a new knife, and that wolf but i need a new tank for him

Dont put all these fish through misery. You are suggesting putting fish that get way too big and/or dont get along well with his stock.

Plus I dont think the OP cares about the fishes welfare either, based on his posts.

I take offense to this i do care, i am quite obviously not going to go buy huge fish that will die in the tank, but i will go buy a baby fish that will outgrow the tank in time, at this point i can give it to a friend or sell it to a fish store. Which i have spoken to and will purchase. As for fish getting eaten in my tank yeah i don't care so much what makes an exotic fish's life more important than a goldfish's life, in my eyes money. But if it provided a meal the circle of life goes on.

Also all the suggestions were welcome, if someone said a cool fish that wasn't suitable i would not go and buy without research, part of the reason i made this post was just to become educated on some of the monsters out there:nilly:

ok so i think my tank is quite filled up for the moment, until i get a couple more tanks to do som transfers :)
