Rust-o-leum sandable grey primer and the same brand matt black in rattlecan...I eventually said F-it and got out the quart and rolled it...
If I did all my fitting of the top 3/4" marine plywood/foam/cover before I painted it, I could have just sprayed it and been done, BUT!.....you know how that goes...

More progress... This is taking wayyyyyyy to long to do. Going to work really puts a crink in my personal life. I learned a few things about how not to paint oil based industrial high gloss paint and a few fab tricks to remember for the next stand. 22 gauge aluminum does not like to be sanded with a disc on a grinder - It gets too hot and warps. A few lessons learned. Why cant every thing be made out of I-beams and angle iron? Much easier to work with.
