Well worth the money? fly river turtle

Looks good to me and yeah the rough looking shell is normal.

That is a good price, cheapest I've seen them here in the states was $700 about 2 years ago. Good luck with him it's just too bad your trying to get rid or the Arm, it would be a pretty awesome display having an Arm and FRT sharing a tank.

in second thought, I might like to try out a combo with the armatus and FRT. I'm just afraid that the FRT might spook the armatus alot and nip on its fins.

i do know that FRT aggressive is generally a hit and miss but usually ends up not the way you want it to be.

Does anyone have experiences with FRTs and fish tankmates?

One issue I see in keeping an arm and FRT together is in the aquarium set up. Arms prefer neutral pH and dim lighting (or spot lighting) while FRTs prefer light brackish, high pH water with either natural sunlight or sun lamps (necessary for vitamin D production needed for absorption of calcium).

I totally agree with you. The two need different water qualities. The thing is, from where I live I get my water from a underground aquafer. My region is full of limestone and calcium. My armatus is fine with the harder water. No ill affects from what i'm aware. I id not know FRTs need to be in brackish. i guess i'll need to ask the owner more questions then.

Another pic. The shell does not look the greatest.

getting this guy this weekend. What's with the black splotch at the bottom of the mouth (near the chin)? Some FRTs have it and some do not. how about the tiny dot near the mouth? Birthmark?
