Wels Catfish, anyone in the US get one?

Hey all, noticed that there are some Wels for sale in the US, captive bred........anyone on MFK get one? If so, how is it doing?

Nope. They are illegal to import into the united states. Even in europe i think you have to have a permit to own one.

Hopefully oddball will come by and help me out with the actual legislation i cant find it.

sorry didnt read the whole thing. If they are being sold as wels i seriously doubt they are the actual thing. Possibly a similar sp. Any links to the ones being sold?

there is a vendor with wels catfish, so it must be legal....

You'd need a lake to house one

same could be said for the paroon shark, piraiba, and other large catfish.

I'm trying to find out who in the US picked up one from a vendor here.
