don't question it, Cabelas seems to focus on hunting and fishing in north america.
most people who hunt and fish like seeing the game animals that they go after in the wild. Plus, it adds an air of North American wilderness to the inside of the store. i live in new england and it feels nice inside in the winter to go inside and see the white tail deer, LMBs, trout, pickerel, and other native animals.

Thanks man. I would LOVE to keep one someday. I did just pick up a free 175 gallon...hmmm.......
 
Yeah,I saw your comment and that's why I asked.The bowfin is easily my favorite native fish.A store here has a beautiful two footer.
 
I agree, they are really neat, prehistoric fish. I know we have them here in PA but I've never come across any while fishing.

Yeah,and I have read that they are not very well liked by anglers and they are'nt much of a food fish.It's almost a shame that they are not very popular in the hobby.
