Wow....looks really good in the tank

thank you ^_^..the tank looks icky but its clean..just lots of sun gets to it..

really loving his colors reminds me allot of a discus...hes got an awesome personality so far even after only being in the tank about 24 hours.

Def. a pumpkinseed but haven't seen many 12"ers ever. Need pics if you're gonna throw out a number like that. That would be a state record here in Michigan. Nice catch. I had one in my classroom 55 gallon tank. It started on pellets about a week after I caught it. Much more aggressive than the bluegill I had in there.

Darn, if only they allowed cameras at sumer camp. :irked:

But yes, you're right, I do need a picture for proof.

He looks great! does he have any tankmates yet?

nah not yet..he will be in QT for some time..want to make sure hes healthy
..this will probably end up being his new home.

I have a green sunfish wild caught, and he went to pellets the 3rd day I had em now hes a major pig. I thought it would be alot harder to pellet train him being wild but hell my oscar is alot pickier about pellets.

I have three P-seeds in a 75 gallon with 3 Bluegill. Had them a few months, and only one P-seed even touches pellets. they all devour frozen bloodworm and live insects and worms.

The P-seeds were real shy at first, but now they are pretty outgoing. One is getting kind of territorial, but all the aggression gets pretty well spread throughout the tank, so no one gets picked on more than any others.

thank you for all the info so far!..he ate some blood worms today^_^.

so do you think that tank would be good for him? its a 40 tall, 500 gph..with 2 sculpin ..the one pictured above is just under 7 inches the other is about 3.

Yeah it should be OK, but I would say you are now fully stocked. The only thing I would worry about is the P-seed stealing all the sculpins food. Just make sure the sculpins are getting enough, and you should be fine
