Looks nice. How easier (or difficult) was it to cut the tile to fit around the overflow towers?

I see some roots in one of the pictures-have you started some greenery?

Was not too bad took me a couple of hours to remove the sand and cut and lay the tile... I just cut the tile square instead of trying to cut a radius around the overflows, but it is not very noticeable. I have been growing the pothos in the sump for some time now, and decided to take some out of the sump and add to the main body of water recently (like yours) as i think the roots look neat.. But to be honest i am not seeing any difference since i added these to the sump or the tank.. I know it has to be doing some good but it is not showing up on the tests.. However the other tank that i put a drip on and have some plants in it, is never above 5ppm...

sometime, i need to set this tank on a drip too... It makes life so much easier!

thanks... you do? i thought after wards...i wish i went with darker tile like granite.. I still like the clean look of it though.

I've got the grayer tiles in my large tank and found it never dulled any of my rays colors and created a great contrast with the black background making the tank appear deeper. It also allowed me to cut back on the lighting since it reflected more.

You saw pics of my absolute black granite. It actually looks like a dark gray when in the water.

I too love that tig!

The tiles look neat and if I do not get in with the sand then I will go down this route.

I assume the back part of the tile "the biscuit" that adhesive goes on to is inert and does not harden the water?

The reason I ask is that my pool man said that if you tile a pool then the PH stays high and the water hardens - any comments?

How so? Unless theyre sealed, cant stuff get stuck under them? Sorry if Im ignorant on the subject and missing some key details

actually they fit pretty tight together. IMO no more will be under the tiles than gets in the sump anyway if anything gets under there. It is not big enough gaps for food to get under them
