Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Which should I get and why? Do't want to breed it, just want one in a tank by itself. Want one with great personality. Here are the ones I am looking at:

Hoplarchus Psittacus
Amphilophus Trimaculatum
Amphilophus Citrinellus
Amphilophus Labiatus
Vieja synspila

Going in either a 75 gallon or 125 gallon, probably the 75 gallon.

Why did you start another thread for this? People are still helping you on the other one.

I know but it was about picking out a good midas/rd and some people on here tend to get uppity when threads don't stay on topic. Plus I added a poll...

^ Gotcha. Get the Red Devil. Then again I like Trimacs too. It all boils down to what YOU want in the end.

I know but I want all that I listed BUT can only have one. Plus I have only had a little experience with trimacs. I want to know which can have the best personality and would make a great wet pet for in the living room.

I'd go with a Midas because they are my absolute favorite cichlid. Having said that, most "Midas" that you'll find in LFS are actually Midas/RD hybrids. It's very difficult to get purebred Midas or Red Devil unless you order from a cichlid breeder who started with wild stock. In my opinion, it's not that important to get a purebred unless you want to breed them for that purpose.

If I had to choose between Midas and RD, I like the body shape of Midas much more because they are stockier and taller than RD. My "Midas" was only $3 at Petsmart and is a hybrid, I'm sure. The Petsmart Midas/RD are actually really good looking fish, and many of them grow into really flashy-looking orange-and-white or red-and-white adults. That's my ultimate wet pet!

I have seen some good one. Its funny though, they always carry 1-2" midas and 5-6" red devils.

Aww, you got rid of your creamsicle parrot?
