my only "wet pet" out of over 50 fish and at least 5 full grown adult fish.

He will get pissed off and splash water if there are a lot of people in the room and nobody is paying atteon to him lol. Every time I have a party hes constantly looking for attention. He's not happy until somebody puts their face up to his tank and flares back at him.

There is a fish store near me with a 40 year old giant gouarmi who will flip out and splash water at you if you're wearing anything plaid. I know everyone isn't going to like this one but from my experience flowerhorns are by far the most personable fish. Just about every other one I've kept has had a ridiculous personality.

I had a wet pet JD once. Very cool fish, very personable. I know they get that "skittish" label stuck to them alot around here but I've never found that to be the case...still this one I had was the only one I'd say met "wet pet" criteria.

When I was in HS I worked at an LFS, and my boss had a wet pet pleco. Just a common pleco, close to 2' long, but he'd come out and spit water at people when we opened the tank, handfeed, pretty cool.

Betta? Don't know that they can be personable, I have 5 of them, and they all seem skittish to me.

Oh really? Hmm, I had three males during college and they would all eat from my hands and one even let me pet him. They would all wag back and forth in their tanks when I entered the room, trying to get my attention. :) Females, in my experience, have been less personable but maybe it's because they were housed in groups.

Now don't get me wrong! A little wet-pet betta doesn't compare at all to a nice big Midas that's happy to see you, lol!

really though Oscars are a good choice for this. my midavil is personable as well always curious as to what people are doing but she is a little skittish.

Oscars, Severums and Bichirs in that order get my votes.

IMO,the giant gourami is the ultimate "wet pet",lot's of personality, loves attention, and hand feeding.mine has to follow every body that comes into the house with a big wag of his tail, and a come and say hi to me look, and will continue to wag his tail until he gets full attention.a small wag from his huge tail is enough to get anybody's attention....

I wouldn't really consider a bichir a wet pet...that would be a large fish with interactive personality. I've never seen bichirs like that.
