Wetsuit rubber coating

I still do not think using Wetsuit to seal around the glass is the best approach. I do think using silicone or other sealant as a gasket is a better option.

Was this silicone test done underwater? I think you need to do a 2-4 week submerged silicone test.

How does this material dry? It is my understanding that the other rubber products stay tacky. Is this the same way?

No, once it is cured completely it is not tacky.

It is a neoprene rubber. I believe they called it wetsuit because neoprene is what wetsuits are made of. They also make hip waders and boots out of neoprene.

Have you made the submerged silicone test yet to see if it bonds and stay bonded to the Wetsuit?

Yes, but I am going to give it a month or so before I pull it out. It is in one of my tanks so it will be taking all the elements a normal tank has to offer.
