My ornate is about 10”, but is the most active of my bichirs. I had a WC sen and that was as active as a rift cichlid,’was constantly cruising

year ago I went to Brookline to buy some fish from a girl named Jess. She had a ton of aquariums and some massive Bichirs in one.

Since this thread was bumped, another plus of Multiple Tank Syndrome I should have mentioned before is that if you want planted tank(s) but one of your tanks is unsuitable, another might be just right. I'm sure most multiple-tank Monster Fish Keepers who like plants have experienced this.
My 473 liters are unsuitable for hornwort (because it clogs up hang on back filters) and pothos (which, as I learned the hard way, gets destroyed when I clean the tanks), but both do very well in my sponge filtered 110 liter which I can gently clean, while keeping NO3 at 0. I consider that itch for planted tanks thoroughly scratched.
