What a shame! Beautiful modded Corvette stolen on ebay!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they are more fun but a TRUE race auto tranny would out preform a manual on the strip. they fine tune them to the specific car to shift at the exact points where they want them, no human error. but i definitely agree, manuals are more fun!

nyone into racing knows that a proper automatic will pwn a 6 speed anyday on the drag strip! I had a C4 in my 11 sec mustang and it would chirp 3rd gear! And it shifts SO much faster than any of you can with a manual.
Then why is NHRA, Nascar, Busch Series, Craftsman series all manuals??? Any one who knows racing knows that auto's are for people with more money than they know how to shift right.

Are you serious any one who knows how to drive can keep a car that has a manual transmission in the torque curve. Once again manual>>>>automatic

Uhm no.. You have absolutely no control of your power band.

Any well experienced manual driver would be able to outperform an automatic.
Also automatics weigh more.

But this is just my opinion.

Manuals are 10x more fun.
Agreed 100%;)

im just talking 1/4 and 1/8 mile runs. and even though are right saying a good driver can keep a car in the torque curve a persons reaction time isnt as good as a real race automatic and they are going to be more efficient. now of course this is for big time dragging. not just heading to the track for the weekend type of thing.

"In Drag racing, especial top fuel nitro-alcohol burning engines with sub 5 second quarter miles times, using a clutch just slows the car down. The transmission of choice is a 3 or 4 speed automatic with a locking clutch."

Sweet car. I actually like the doors on it.

An auto tranny is heavier, has more rotating weight, and soaks up more power that a manual, since it is sloshing around in hydraulic fluid.

Something tells me that a C6 slammed to the floor sitting on 19's with ultra low profile tires with lambo doors wasn't built for the dragstrip. This is a street car and the auto needs to go. I had a lightly modded LT1 Z28 with a T56, and drove my fiance's LS1 Z28 A4 and my buddies modded LS1 Z28 A4 will H/C/I, full exhaust, stall, and more. While on paper my car was the slowest of the 3, it was by far the most entertaining on the street.

6-speed FTW :headbang2

For a street car a 5/6 speed is much more fun. Even for an open track/road course car, that is the way to go.
But for a pure drag car, autos are far more consistant and will net you quicker ETs every time.

True, but unless money is involved, I'll take the 6 speed.

i agree, i would prefer a 5/6 speed if it was a driver or even for road racing but if we are talking pure drag racing. a fine tuned automatic is better. thats all i was saying
