To be honest with you, I feed everything live. Feeder convicts, worms, flies, crickets, spiders, and a lot of other insects. I feed my fish small amounts several times a day.
I own dovii's, grammodes, festae, istlanums, and salvini's.
I feed my fish 2-3 times a day. I just drop it in the aquarium and they go crazy for it. I would feed them live/frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, krill, spirulina enhanced brine shrimp, and roaches (only the kilifish eas it). I feed them the frozen foods 2-3 times a week. I alternate between the frozen stuff too. But they seem to prefer mysis shrimp a lot.
Let's see, I have Green Terrors and I feed them(pair) NLS(Jumbo fish formula and thera A+), Omega One shrimp pellets, Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+, Spirulina pellets, algae wafers, and occasional feeders. I'm starting to feed them some frozen and freeze dried food but no luck so far. I like to feed them a couple of hours after/before lights turn on/off. I drop in food little by little as they eat rather than dumping in a huge amount at once, which usually takes 2-3 minutes.
Wow, a lot of options, a lot of ideas... Hope more people from the forum share their feeding routines.
I do see a couple of brands mentioned many times, NLS and Hikari, mostly. I use NLS but have never tried Hikar. Is it really that good?
Hikari staple, and gold I like to use for my Red Devil,Oscar,Dempsey, and convict. Hikari Algae waffers for my Pleco as well. Heres some pics I think my cichlids have some healthy colors.
