Pterophyllum scalare
Pterophyllum altum
Pterophyllum leopoldi (formerly P. dumerilii)

The ones you have are scalares. Scalares are available in various colors.

if we're just talking about Scalare morphs

How sure are you guys that all the common colour variants are actually pure P. scalare?? I certainly wouldn't want to call them P. scalare after 50+ years of captive breeding and possible hybridising (I can't find the article I'm thinking of on this subject unfortunately), I'd only call them Pterophyllum Sp. and leave the actual species name for true wild types of P. scalare.

You're correct since they don't come with papers we don't know. It's still becoming harder and harder to fine natural looking Angel Fish. I stand by my statement. Don't troll, everybody knew what we ment.

PS I'm just busting about the trolling. I know you can't tell but you did know what I ment.

If trying to get people to use correct Latin names is considered trolling then you can deactivate my account now. The naming of plants and animals was an utter mess until the Latin nomenclature and binomial names we use today were universally accepted, and it concerns me that so few people in this hobby seem interested in making use of such a good system.

*edit* your second post wasn't there when I started writing that. My interpretation of "what you meant" was that you thought the common colour variants of angelfish available in the hobby today which have been captive bred for 50+ years and may well have hybrid origins were in fact the species Pterophyllum scalare. So I guess I didn't know what you meant.

Anyway, back on topic....

It's all good bud everybody's friends.
