What aquarium fish can take off a finger?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
GAFT and pirahna teeth are designed more for slicing meat. Almost no animals will attempt to slice through bones, it's way too much trouble for too little reward. the way nature breaks bones is crushing them so fish with a crushing bite like pacus, puffers, parrotfish etc are more likely candidates

Maybe a pike , snakehead . They might not be able to completely bite a finger off but I kno even small cichlids have powerful bites for their size.

Definately puffers and pacus. Alot of fish will roll when they bite also(morays, sharks, ect). With enough power and grip they could easily seperate a joint.

I agree, it would depend on where you were bitten. In between the joint would get the job done. if not, youd have just bone left. Then have fun with your new hiney skin grafted finger.

i doubt pike can do that. their teeth are more like railroad spikes. they hold with their recurved front teeth and puncture vitals with their spike shaped rear teeth, then work it around and swallow it. they might penetrate thin bones of prey but definately not 1/2 an inch of solid bone like in a human finger. they'd break bones by thrashing around but that would be more like forced dislocation then a break
