Ocean Nutrition.

New Life Spectrum = NLS = ;)

Omega one uses artificial colors, extra preservatives not required by law, and has a high fat content. Also, the numbers in fish food aren't regulated.
I have used omega one, hikari, and NLS. I prefer NLS by far. They also literally guarantee you will be happy with the food, or they will refund your money.

I forgot to list Ocean Nutrition in my previous entry. In practice (to some extent), what your fish will actually eat is a measure of how "good" it is.

You can have the best ingredients in the world, but if your fish won't eat it - it might as well be wood chips. I have used trial and error to get a great mix for my guys.

I wouldn't use Wardleys or Tetra brand, but I might just be a brand snob.

Does anyone have any experience with NLS Small Fish Formula? How does the pellet size compare to Hikari's MicroPellets?

I looked at the ingredient lists, and prefer the NLS ingredients but I need the tiny pellets for my minnow, darters and killies.

I feed Ocean Star International (OSI).

The only thing Hikari I feed is Massivore.

Also feed Aquarian brand Shrimp Pellets.

I feed the community formula to my 33 gallon and it's pretty tiny. Look at the growth forumula too.

Not sure how they compare in size, but the NLS Small Fish formula is a .5mm sinking pellet & should work well for the species that you mentioned. As a comparison, the Comunity formula is a 1mm sinking pellet.
