Interactive... Based on my experience its my silver aro and giant gourami. Silver bites so as too my giant gourami but usually not intentional and GG is more child friendly if you ask me :D

but remember the pond gets VERY cold in the winter... and i don't mean COMPLETELY 100% safe... but i actually witnessed a gar taking off a fisher guys finger while i was i texas... an aro can not do that... I've been bitten by mine i know... but remember it is a COLD pond in winter...
 
Hmm... Thats pretty difficult.
 
I would stick with kois, albino channel catfish, goldfish and maybe golden orfe.
 
Stick with veil tail kois and goldies. They are better in terms of color and can withstand cooler temp.
I have Gar, Aros, GG's, Cats and loads of natives in my pond. I do see my gar and the big Aro starting to get inquisitive of people around the tank. But then nobody puts their hand in there and I have the weather to support.
