A 29 gallon tank for life? If that's the case a Stinkpot Musk Turtle is about your only choice. But a 29 doesn't have a very big foot print. A 30 gallon long would be better.

Upgrade that please. Also remenbar that male maps are much smaller than females and ideal to keep in a home tank because you wouldnt have to worry about egg laying stuff
i had a mississippi map, an he was a lil runt, never got bigger than my palm in about 3 years. cutie pie tho
