What are the crazy things you will do for fish?

I lie about how much I spend on fish all the time! Hey, DH spends $200 a month on tools, whats $30 for a fish?

I also lied about feeling sick at DH's grandpa's funeral just so I could sneak around the block to check out a store. Hey, it was a full Catholic mass funeral, I'm not religous at all, met the man once in my life, and I've besides, it was my first trip to DeMoines!

left work with my boss so we could pick up my wolf. back a few years i was in san diego and saw a beautiful okeechobee(spelling?) cornsnake. those are illegal in new jersey. you can only get albinos and snow and homemade ones here. i had to have it. it was about 4 feet. i walked right on the plane with it. it was in my carry on. when the security was checking my stuff. i kinda put my hand in the bag and pushed the snake aside so the guy couldn't see it moving around. but i'm sure i'm not the only one who has done that.

In order to make up for the money going into the hobby, I decided to downgraded my car to a 93 Civic with 150k miles on it and drive on a all natural breeze.

I have laid out of work when fish are to arrive. I buy fish tanks that I know that I have no room for in My house currently I have like six tanks in my work shop that i have not set up and one in the back of my truck. I need a another shop that I can heat.

I know I'll drive for hours just to look at them and work or school never seem to get in the way. But going to look at fish all day does get in the way of work and school.

Nothing, it is not crazy to run out of food budget to "round out" a tank, or miss work, or travel 2500 miles and smuggle fish into a foriegn country to set up a tank, not crazy at all.

I just tend to spend money when I shouldn't. For whatever reason saving up for my house never seems to stop me from spending a couple of hundred bucks on fish and fish stuff...

Howdy,

This is more funny than crazy: Back in the days, I had molly babies who over night escaped from a floating nursery and roamed freely in my tank. I caught them all, then went to school. I was 30 min late, told the teacher straight out what the deal was. She looked at me and told me that that morning, her chicks had escaped from their pen without the hen. She came into work on time nevertheless, had to leave them roam until after school. But she had a smile on her face and I knew she wished she'd been a student and not the lady in charge, because then she'd also taken her time to catch them. ;)

i quit smoking so that i could afford to renovate my lounge and buy all new furniture to free up a wall that was just under 7' long so i could put a 180g there just to look at when i am in that room. it cost me over £3.000 $5.500 usd but its worth it and i dont smoke now either and keep monster fish.

I once convinced my ex to shell out the money for a 75gal. setup. On the terms that I'd pay her back half of it. I never did. And now that she's killed every thing in it I'm gonna get it back from her at 1/4 of the price! :naughty: I'm still mad she killed my fish but at least I'll have room for more of them... as soon as I figguare out where to put that tank...
