actually the galapagos is not illegal to own, you must have cites certification to get them and if they are born in a particular state they are not allowed to be transported out of that state. There have been a few handful of galapagos for sale, that are cbb

There was a guy on one of the forums I frequent with a male, looking for someone who had a female for a breeding project so private hobbiests do have them here, but it really isn't common.

I love the aldabrans though. Bristol zoo, my local zoo, thinks that one of it's aldabrans is a Dipsochelys hololissa instead, which would be cool.
 
I think I've seen Aldabrans for sale also, not sure but pretty sure.

Or mabye its the Cyclura nubila nubila or the Cyclura lewisi, but I'm not sure. There is so many diffrent species of Cyclura that are so similar in size that its hard to tell.
